City Recapitulations Needed
The Office of Property Valuation is requesting that you submit a recapitulation of the real property assessment totals for each city within your county. By obtaining this assessment information through the recap, no separate survey form will be sent to your office by the League of Cities. Keep in mind that only real property assessment totals – broken out by residential, farm and commercial totals – are needed for each city. You do not have to delay the submission of your regular recap form to us. It is acceptable to prepare separate recap forms for each city later in the summer to turn into us.

ATTENTION POTENTIAL DESIGNEES
Anyone meeting the requirements to receive a professional designation (CKA, SKA) at the Summer Conference must submit an application to the Education and Research Branch by June 1, 2006. Anyone submitting an application after this date may have to wait until the Fall Conference to receive their designation. Persons waiting on the outcome of a class to determine if they meet the requirements should submit an application with “pending” written beside the class. This allows the Education Branch to anticipate the number of designations to be awarded and to identify those individuals waiting on test results. Applications are available on the PVA Network site under, Division of Local Valuation, Education & Research, then click on Education Program Forms. (May 8, 2006)

Intangible Property Tax Return (62A376)
As a result of Governor Fletcher’s Tax Modernization plan (House Bill 272); effective January 1, 2006, the Intangible Property Tax Return (62A376) is no longer required to be filed because intangible personal property is no longer taxable. The exemption specifically includes property such as bonds, notes, mortgages; land contracts, trusts, money on hand, money on deposit with non-bank financial institutions, accounts receivable, intercompany accounts and various rights to receive income.
