​*** Pre-registration for the November 17th, 2021, PVA Exam has closed. ***

An individual who seeks the office of Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) must first pass a qualifying examination administered by the Department of Revenue in order to be eligible to run for the office of PVA.  Incumbent PVAs are not required to take the examination again to run for re-election. 

Candidates also must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Be at least 24 years of age;
  • Be a citizen of Kentucky;
  • Have resided in the state at least two years preceding the election; and
  • Have resided in the county at least one year preceding the election.

The statewide PVA exam will be held November 17, 2021 beginning at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST).  Participants will have 3.5 hours to finish the exam, which consists of general knowledge questions.  There is NO study guide.  The exam will be hosted at:

Pre-registration is Required

To pre-register you must complete the form below and submit.  Registration will close November 10th at midnight EST​.  If you have not pre-registered to take the exam, you will NOT be able to take the exam on November 17th. Once you have pre-registered, you will receive a confirmation email within 1-2 business days. 


    Government-issued photo identification is required for all examinees.
