​​​​​​An individual who seeks the office of Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) must first pass a qualifying examination administered by the Department of Revenue in order to be eligible to run for the office of PVA.  Incumbent PVAs are not required to take the examination again to run for re-election.  

Candidates also must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Be at least 24 years of age;
  • Be a citizen of Kentucky;
  • Have resided in the state at least two years preceding the election; and
  • Have resided in the county at least one year preceding the election.

The Special Qualifying PVA Examination for Franklin and Graves County residents will be held Thursday November 9, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST).  Registration begins at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.  Participants will have 3.5 hours to finish the exam, which consists of general knowledge questions.  There is NO study guide.  The exam will be hosted at:

    Government-issued photo identification is required for all examinees.
