JeremySimpson2.JPGThe Kentucky Department of Revenue (DOR) announces the addition of Jeremy Simpson to the Division of Taxpayer Ombudsman.  Simpson replaces Kevin Miller, who was recently promoted to the position of Assistant Director in the Office of Protest Resolution.

Simpson will take on the role of liaison between DOR and Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and other tax practitioners.  This is Simpson's second stint with DOR, having previously served in the Division of Sales and Use Tax for 10 years.

Simpson is excited to be back at DOR and looks forward to working with the tax professionals.  "DOR is a fantastic place to work. We take great pride in assisting all taxpayers with their issues.  This opportunity to work directly with the practitioners is an honor and I am really excited to get started."

The Division of Taxpayer Ombudsman serves as a liaison between DOR and taxpayers when attempts to resolve an issue are not resolved through normal channels.  Melanie Bitzer is the Taxpayer Ombudsman Division Director and says practitioners are in good hands with Simpson.  "Jeremy is incredibly qualified and will do a tremendous job assisting the tax professionals with their inquiries and requests."

The Division of Taxpayer Ombudsman's office hours are Monday – Friday, from 7:00am-4:30pm ET.

The tax practitioner hotline is (844) 751-5011 and the direct email is Jeremy.simpson@ky.gov.
