Businesses must file and pay tax returns online as the Department makes the functionality available for various tax types. These taxes include but are not limited to sales tax, consumer's use tax, telecom tax, transient room tax, utility gross receipts license tax (UGRLT), commercial mobile radio service (CMRS) 911 fee and waste tire fee.

This mandate applies to all monthly, quarterly, and annual filer frequency accounts.

The Department will only consider businesses that do not have access to the internet or that have documented technical problems, as described by statute, for a waiver of the electronic filing and payment requirements. See KRS 131.250(2)(b) for details.
