On March 14, 2025, MyTaxes will replace OneStop for business tax filers. Starting February 26, there will be a two-week operations pause at KY DOR to prepare for this transition.

Overview of MyTaxes

The Kentucky Department of Revenue will soon launch a new tax portal for business tax filers called MyTaxes. The new tax portal is projected to be available on March 14, 2025.

The new system will offer:

  • A more comprehensive view of taxpayer data including filing, paying, and viewing return information for multiple tax types
  • Ability to view taxpayer correspondence
  • Increased self-service capabilities such as submitting a refund application, making payments and requesting a letter of good standing

What do Business Tax Filers Need to Know?

  • Beginning March 14, 2025, business tax filers will use the new MyTaxes portal instead of OneStop to access information and file taxes for Sales & Use, Corporation Income (Corp)/Limited Liability Entity (LLE), Telecom, Withholding, Utilities Gross Receipts License Tax (UGRLT), Non-Resident Withholding (NRWH), Commercial Mobile Radio Service (CMRS), Tire, Transient, and Tobacco and Vapor Products Licensing.
  • MyTaxes will also replace E-Tax, the UGRLT and Telecom filing system and WRAPS, the Withholding Returns and Payment System.
  • An email with login credentials and instructions for MyTaxes will be sent to OneStop, E-Tax, and WRAPS users the first week of March 2025.
  • Starting February 26, there will be a two-week operations pause at Kentucky Department of Revenue to prepare for these transitions. Business tax filers cannot file returns or receive refund payments in the old system, OneStop, or the new system, MyTaxes, from February 26 to March 14.
  • Please print any historical return data from OneStop that you want to save prior to February 26. Although the Department of Revenue will archive historical return data from OneStop, you will not be able to access these records in OneStop beginning on February 26.

What do Individual Income Tax Filers Need to Know?

  • The Kentucky Department of Revenue is transitioning to a new integrated tax system and launching a new business tax portal called MyTaxes.
  • Starting February 26, there will be a two-week operations pause at Kentucky Department of Revenue to prepare for these transitions.
  • Kentuckians can file individual income tax returns at any point from Jan. 27 to April 15, but Department of Revenue staff will not be able to process refunds or send acknowledgements from February 26 to March 14.
  • For example, if you file your return on February 27 and are eligible for a refund, it will be processed after normal operations resume on March 14.
  • Kentuckians’ federal tax returns will be processed normally, no matter when they file.
  • If you anticipate a state refund and would like it promptly, we recommend filing as soon as possible.

Why is this system change occurring during tax season?

These changes and the go-live dates were established in consultation with many stakeholders, and there was careful consideration and assessment of the tax filing requirements and revenue collection to determine the window of minimal impact that was also feasible with the system development window. We understand that no month is a good month for a change at the Kentucky Department of Revenue and this will cause some inconvenience for stakeholders, but we are ensuring everyone has the information they need in advance for minimal disruption.

Why is a two-week operations pause needed?

The two-week temporary pause in operations is necessary to transition from the current systems to the new integrated tax system. No data will be able to be entered or updated in any system during this transition period. The temporary pause in operations will last from February 26, 2025, to March 14, 2025. Kentucky Department of Revenue staff will be answering phones but will only be able to provide limited assistance due to processing limitations.

Why is the Kentucky Department of Revenue making these changes?

These changes are necessary because the current systems at the Kentucky Department of Revenue are outdated and unsustainable.
